These beautifully colored fossils are ideal for collecting, and are sometimes shaped into opal gems, then fashioned into jewelry of unparalleled beauty. The sea creatures that belemnites originated from have long been extinct, which is why these rare collectables are so difficult to find, and are of a very limited supply.
